Dr. Vikas Kumar,  Former Director, DMRL

Dr. Vikas Kumar is a Distinguished Scientist and Director at DMRL since 1982, holds degrees from IIT Roorkee, IIT Kanpur, and IIT Madras. With expertise in Fatigue & Fracture Mechanics spanning over three decades, he focuses on Thermo-Mechanical Fatigue, Damage Mechanics, and Life Prediction for military aeroengines and weapon systems. His contributions include developing advanced materials like DMR-1700 steel and titanium alloys, and leading structural integrity assessments for gun barrels and naval applications. Dr. Kumar has established advanced testing and evaluation facilities, and holds numerous awards and patents.​  

Dr. Madhusudana Reddy,  Former Director, DMRL

Dr. Madhusudana Reddy began his career in 1987 at CVRDE, Chennai, advancing to welding research at DMRL, Hyderabad in 1989. His pioneering work in friction-stir welding of aerospace components and innovative techniques for alloys like Aluminium-Lithium and superalloys has significantly influenced defense and aerospace technologies. Leading DMRL's solid-state welding lab, Dr. Reddy has received prestigious awards including the 'Metallurgist of the Year Award-2007' and 'Scientist of the Year Award-2013' from DRDO, recognizing his outstanding contributions to materials joining and surfacing technologies.

Dr. Bharat Kale ,  Former D.G., CMET

Dr. Bharat Kale was serving as Scientist G, Director (A), and Director General (Additional Charge), is a distinguished researcher specializing in Nanostructured advanced Materials, Photonic materials, Solar cells, Thermoelectrics, Batteries (Lithium ion, Lithium air, Na-ion, Na-air), Hydrogen production from Semiconductors, Quantum dots, Nanocomposites, Magnetic materials, Super capacitor materials, Hydrogen storage materials, fuel cell materials, and catalysts. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (FRSC), London, and the Asian Pacific Advanced Material Society (APAM), Singapore. Dr. Kale has received numerous honors, including the Young Scientist Boyscast Fellowship Award (1996), MRSI Gold Medal Award 2010, and the Award of the Year 2013 on Photocatalysis by KRICT, Daejon South Korea. He plays a pivotal role in scientific societies such as the MRSI Pune Chapter and Maharashtra Academy of Science (MASc), and serves as an editorial board member of Metals and Materials International - Springer.

K. Narasimha Murthy ,  Cost Accountant, Director - NSE

Shri K. Narasimha Murthy, is a highly accomplished professional with a strong academic background in CA and ICWA. Since 1983, he has been instrumental in developing Cost & Management Information Systems for over 175 companies across 50 industries, focusing on cost reduction strategies and system improvements. Currently, he holds board positions in leading institutions like NSE, NELCO (A TATA Enterprise), and Max Group companies, and serves on significant committees including those of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam and the Institute of Cost Accountants of India. With extensive experience as a director in organizations like ONGC, IDBI Bank, and LIC Housing Finance, he has chaired or been a member of over 45 high-level committees at national and state levels, contributing to sectors such as audit reforms and fiscal restructuring. His contributions to the Cost Accounting Record Rules and the profession have been recognized by ICWAI with a citation in October 2007.
